Hot Tubs: Pandemic "Saviors"

Like most small communities, Summit County has an unofficial Facebook page. This page was started by a few random residents years ago as a local page for buying and selling, but over time morphed into a widely popular forum for all types of discussion related to our daily lives. The page is so renowned, that our local news outlets use it as a source to keep their thumb on the hub of our community. Recently, hot tubs were a topic of discussion with a member posting the statement, “Day 27 of staying at home and I have come to the conclusion that I need a hot tub.” Hundreds of residents chimed it to voice their hot-tub-loving sentiments such as “Our hot tub has been a quarantine savior.”

The numerous health benefits of hot tubs have been touted for years, but now more than ever the mental health aspect seems most prevalent. With millions of Americans spending the majority of their time in their homes, domestic comfort needs are in higher demand. Americans are also looking for more way decrease the stress of the unknown.

The annual Breckenridge Tourism Organization summer preview meeting looked a bit different this year. The meeting was held online rather than at the Speakeasy Theater. The travel experts at the BTO predict that when our guests begin to return, health and wellness will be in the forefronts of their minds. Hot tubs have undoubtedly always been in huge demand for vacation rental guests, and in light of the recent events, we expect to see that demand increase.

Human behavior will undoubtedly be affected by the viral pandemic. While none of us can say exactly how, it’s safe to say that we will all continue to have a heightened awareness of hygiene and cleanliness and be more wary of crowds for some time to come. Vacationers coming to Breckenridge will likely want to rent homes close to trails and homes with great amenities they can enjoy while spending time indoors. At the top of the amenity list will be the private and well-maintained hot tub

Want to give your vacation rental an edge? Enhance your listing description with an aim to increase booking confidence. Let potential guests know that your hot tub is professionally maintained on a tight and regular schedule by local technicians who are experts in the field. As the CDC says, “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19”the virus cannot be spread as long as the tub is property maintained.” We want to stress that proper disinfection and maintenance are key. All parts of the tub work together for a proper chemical balance.

If you are looking to purchase a new tub or upgrade your existing tub, please contact our sales staff at Summit Hot Tubs. We offer affordable and reliable maintenance and repairs for every hot tub brand that we sell. Stay safe, healthy, and be sure to get your hot tub “savior” time in!
